Developer Diary No.1
A little over a year ago, Earthbound Games embarked on a massive journey as a studio, to create a new generation of high-adrenaline digital sports. Just recently, in what can only be described as one of our busiest and most rewarding months ever as a studio, we finally unveiled our exciting new project to the world, Axiom Soccer!
On Tuesday the 18th of September, our very first closed public beta of Axiom Soccer was playable across the globe to an exclusive audience of the first 250 loyal beta testers! We streamed live on Twitch for the first time with our community team, who played many intense games against our recently established Discord community. (Feel free to join us too - https://discord.gg/Rr8KGph)
We received a ton of really useful feedback and suggestions from first-hand play testers and this is already helping shape our game before we launch round two of our closed beta in October (have you signed up yet? https://www.axiomsoccer.com/sign-up) . And to top it all off, we had a ton of fun finally unveiling our game to the world!
With round one of our closed beta wrapped up and your feedback collated, we’ve focussed our attention on some quality-of-life improvements that will make Axiom Soccer even more fun to play! During the next round of the closed beta there will be a new and improved matchmaking system with added functionality for playing with your friends, so those of you who have already proved to our community team you are the next Ronaldo can now try out your skills on your friends. Overall game balance for drone weapons, arena size and ball physics is being updated, and we expect that to provide greater tension in 3v3 matches. Fans of the machine gun will be pleased next beta (which means Earthbound’s very own Hugo will not).
We will be updating the Developer Diary monthly with updates on Axiom Soccer and the Earthbound Games team so keep checking back. In the meantime be sure to follow us on your favourite social media platform and sign-up to our email list to participate in future betas. We hope to see you on the pitch soon!
